- All ReStore ReDesign Entries are considered donations to the ReStore and, once submitted, become the property of Habitat for Humanity of the MOV(Mid-Ohio Valley). Proceeds from ReStore ReDesign contest entries will be used to support the home building mission of Habitat for Humanity
- All entries MUST be accompanied by a Before photo to be eligible to win Grand Prize. A ReStore associate can take the picture or it can be emailed to restore@habitatmov.com Subject: ReStore ReDesign
- ReStore ReDesign is open to those who live, work, shop, or worship in Washington County, OH and Wood County, WV
- Your chance of winning is based on the number of entries
- Entries must have been “upcycled” in some way to be eligible
- Employees and volunteers of Habitat for Humanity of the Mid-Ohio Valley and Woodcraft are not eligible to win
- Project pieces are not required to be purchased in the ReStore, but in order to be eligible to win, they must be accompanied by a Before picture and it must be obvious that the final piece was created from the original
- Contestants will be reimbursed the original purchase price for one project piece purchased in the Habitat for Humanity of the MOV ReStore if they meet the following criteria
- Purchased between 9/4/19 and 10/5/19
- Purchased with a debit or credit card
- Item has been upcycled and is being submitted as an eligible contest entry
- Original receipt presented
- Each contestant is limited to one entry (multiple pieces are accepted as one entry)
- We reserve the right to limit the number of entries in the event of overwhelming response. In this instance, registrants will be notified ASAP and items will be accepted first come first served basis
- All entries MUST be delivered to the ReStore no later than 3:00 pm on 10/7/18 in order to be eligible. Any item received after this time will be accepted as a donation only.
- Entries will be on display in the ReStore from 10/9/2018 – 10/18/2018
- Entries will be judged on Creativity/Transformation, Quality of Finish, and Functionality. Contestants can request a judging criteria rubric at time of application
- ReStore patrons can also cast their vote for their favorite item by making cash donations into the corresponding donation tube for that item
- Semi-finalists will be determined in the following ways: One item will be selected by a panel of judges assembled by our event sponsor Woodcraft. Two items will be selected by a panel of 3 or more judges assembled by the ReStore to be made up of individuals who are skilled in the arts and have no direct affiliation with the ReStore or HFHMOV. The fourth item will be selected as “People’s Choice” and determined by the amount of cash donations made toward it by ReStore patrons
- Each judging criteria (Creativity/Transformation, Quality of Finish, Functionality) is worth 10 points each for a total judge’s score of up to 30 points
- Contestants who provide photos of the “upcycle” process will be awarded one additional point for each photo, up to a total of 3 additional points, which will be added to their overall judges’ score. (An item scoring at the top level in each category with 3 judges and with at least 3 upcycle process photos would result in an overall score of 93 points)
- Four semi-finalist items will be selected to go on to Destination Design, our annual fundraising auction, where they will be auctioned to the highest bidder
- Each Semi-Finalist will receive 2 tickets to attend Destination Design on 10/18/19
- The Contest Prize winners will ultimately be decided at auction
- Grand Prize – Item receiving the highest auction bid
- 2nd Prize – Item receiving the second highest auction bid
- 3rd Prize – Item receiving the third highest bid
- Prizes
- Grand Prize – $300 Visa Gift Card and $100 ReStore Gift Card
- 2nd Prize – $200 Visa Gift Card and $50 ReStore Gift Card
- 3rd Prize – $100 Visa Gift Card and $25 ReStore Gift Card
- ReStore ReDesign reserves the right to select an item as an “Honorable Mention” which may be sent to Destination Design, but would NOT be eligible for contest prizes
Important Dates
9/4/19 – Registration Opens
10/4/19 – First day to return completed contest entries to ReStore
10/7/19 – 3:00pm Deadline to submit contest entry
10/9/19-10/17/19 Items on display in ReStore / People’s Choice Voting open
10/12/19 – Judging of entries
10/14/19 – Judges’ selections announced
10/17/19 – People’s Choice announced
10/18/19 – 5:30pm Destination Design Fundraiser Auction
