Donor Stories

Mary (Mickey)Welch

Mary (Mickey) Welch was one of our biggest supporters.  She sponsored homes regularly, donated large items for our charity auctions, and funded the purchase of our Vienna ReStore. Before Mickey passed, she created a Parkersburg Area Community Foundation fund.  Her legacy continues to live on through Habitat for Humanity, as her daughter designates funding to keep construction going in Wood and Washington Counties. Mickey and her family will always be a major part of the heart of Habitat MOV.

A Volunteer’s Legacy Continues

An anonymous donor recently contacted us about leaving his home and contents to Habitat for Humanity.  He will deed it to us upon death, and a major asset will pass to Habitat MOV for sale and use for ongoing construction. This gentleman was part of an early build team, who built an entire Habitat house through their church mission team. That experience has stayed with him, and he told us he wanted to be sure his earthly blessings continue to bless more families after he has moved on.
